A set of 20 medals, each depicting the various stages of the Apollo moon mission, minted in 1970. Sets were issued containing silver that was thought to have been carried around the moon. After learning this to be incorrect, The Franklin mint requested the subscribers to return their medals for destruction. The replacement medals were struck from a special lot of silver containing metal that was personally carried by the astronauts around the moon. THIS SET IS FROM THE RARE MOON FLOWN SILVER. These were only made available to Apollo astronauts and for supporters of America's Space Program.
This is a COMPLETE SET in excellent condition with accompanying letters from Franklin Mint attesting to the space flown authenticity of these medals. Includes Certificate of Authenticity attesting to same.
